der ian hat mir was zum lesen gesendet: On view these two castings look very similar. The Piaggio unit is made by Grimeca in Italy and the LML by, well, LML! However if you look at the picture below you will notice that the Piaggio outer spindle casting is slightly deeper than the LML and by approx 2mm. This isnt a problem if you use the Piaggio front hub on the Piaggio calliper casting and LML on LML. Where difficulty can come is if you swap hubs over on to opposing calliper holders. If you install a Piaggio hub on to the LML there will be a slight 2mm shortfall on overlap for dirt to enter, but no other problems. However, If you install an LML hub on to the Piaggio calliper holder it will foul and rub at point (A*) If this isnt noticed, damage and accidents can occur. If you want to install an LML hub directly on to a Piaggio Vespa calliper you will need to get the 2mm machined off to allow assembly. There is plenty of scope to reduce this as there is a good 4mm lip before you hit the outer oil seal seating. This can be attempted by the competent amateur but a professional reaming job would be much tidier.
