sorry - my german is again too shit to fully understand- does this mean the registration is closed? Other people here still want to register - is it now too late? Also I have transfered the cash only today - do you think it will be a problem?
-
thanks Wortwael & Max for sending me the info! I'll be kind to you on the ring (that will be my excuse for being shit)
-
Hey racers Just registered but as I?m in Holland I need the IBAN/ BIC details. Does anyone have these or would it be possible to just bring the cash to the ring? Nice ? see you in the evening of the 19th of May! John
-
you having a kid then? Nice one! yep - the people who raced last year will get them automatically in the post. I'm told this will be in early to mid May....
-
less than 2 weeks to go!
-
for those of you following this topic - the info on the 2007 lelystad races is now on GSF here - hope lots of you will make it over again for 2007!
-
The Lambretta Club NL will for the 3rd time be hosting the Classic Race Demo in lelystad like we did last year and the year before. If you book ahead of time the price for the saturday & sunday will be 50 euros (a complete bargain considering the amount of track time). Those only wanting to do 1 day will have to pay 35 euros. Its possible to take a second or third bike - each new bike costs an additional 10 euros for the admin costs & to make up the race number (like last year). The formula will be nearly identical to last year with a shit load of track time across the 2 days. The classes are TBC pending on the entrants but will again most likely end up based on ability - all the way from the near standard PK50 automatica racers all the way through the hard core ESC type racers and everything in between. There will be free overnight camping on the saturday night but no all nighter as its about racing and not getting legless till 5am in the morning. The cantine will probably be open till about 10ish. The general idea is that like last year that its geared to the classic pre-1978 scooters from standard to tuned but the later P and PK bikes and the all out racers are also welcome but we will not be working with timing transponders . Saftey remains important so saftey wear will remain important like last year with a recommendation of leathers or your normal synthetic motorbike suits - so no jeans and t shirts! Also important if it rains a little like last year that it may not be the best place to take your best newly restored bike - as there can ofcourse be some people stacking their bikes like last year and that as such its at your own risk (if you do want to take your bling resto then maybe its better to ride in a slightly less competive slower class) Here a picture of last years track which is raced counter clockwise yes this is my approximate line. Also check out this old thread of the 2006 racers on GSF for a good general impression, lots of photos & the Scootering article on the races. For some more info & registration form you can go here If you have any questions, comments or suggestions then let me know through a PM or asking here. Hope lots of you will come again! @ PMS - we still got your 2006 cash in the bank so you dont have to pay anything!
-
got mine yesterday as well!
-
I'll be there from Holland as well - Roo think there will be more than 3 of us! A small note in english what the plan is would be great re: what the racing will be like, when & how to register & Pay. My german isnt very good....
-
You're a funny bloke (I mean funny ha ha but actually also a bit funny perculiar/ weird) If they now doubt you then you simply get your issue of scootering out which you casually leave on the coffee table for when you have visitors over (which lets not forget is a worldwide distribution - show them the global list of clubs to join) and point to the words - "race legend" next to your name in the article. That will probably impress them tremendously. On the other hand maybe it won't - and they'll laugh at you even more in wonder that there are even more sad scooterist - most of which seem to enjoy painting their scooter is a strange paintjob (ie the english custom paintjobs). At least no one can say our scooters are penis extensions (or do you also have a big harley and a big diving watch?)
-
ok - maybe a little! But its not as embarrassing as when all your colleagues/ friends ask each time - "so did you win?" and I have to tell them where I finished. At least you win or finish in the top 3 or 4 nearly every time. In holland you are a Race legend so there you go!
-
excellent. Come on - admit it - I know you love it! (I'm talking about the fame & glory - not the bumsex) I'm glad people read it - all the way at the back of the mag.
-
so - has no one been able to work out the final rankings like the last years? Would be awesome. thx John
-
hey all Was again a great racing weekend - really enjoyed it. Can someone scan in & post the race times? Also is there someone who can calculate & post the rankings like was done in May for both races? Really interesting to see where everyone finished in the ranking. John - number 27/ TV TS1 PS - hope to see some of you at the 2nd Dutch Scooter Show on Nov 5th. See link below for GSF topic.
-
Ok finally here it is hot off the press - the scootering addition with the Lelystad Race featured - even mentioned on the front cover off the magazine. obviously that isn't legible but click here for the pdf (mind its 0.8MB so will take a little while to down load) http://www.lambrettaclub.nl/scanracing.pdf Hope you like it - should be good promotion for next year! Also thanks to Amazombie for getting it in the German scooter mags! Thx & hope to see you at the 2007 edition again. Was good seeing some of you at the ring on sunday! John PS - hope to see some of you at the second dutch scooter show on Nov 5th - more info here http://www.germanscooterforum.de/index.php?showtopic=96715
-
phew - thank god! yep andy is back - he will also be racing - will take the orange one & my gs pinasco 213 - should be good! He will also bring Leentje. Cool that you do both - as I'm a big girls blouse I will probably be tucked up in bed by midnight (or dancing with Pants on my head like I normally do). Wurst case scenario we then sorry you in the morning. (sorry for the pun)
-
Maybe I'm mistaken but I thought I was going to the ring for scooter racing - not a big bumsex fest. See you saturday evening (not for the amazombie bumsex party but for the racing) - should be about 10 of us from Amsterdam! John
-
I think many of the dutchies didnt preregister so it should definately be more.
-
Due to last years success the Lambretta Club of the Netherlands will again be hosting the Classic Scooter Custom Show together with most vespa & scooter clubs in NL. To get a general impression check out last years GSF topic click here. All registration info etc can be found on this site - here some of the key info in english and the dutch flyer - one in english may follow later Hope to see even more Germans there again! As good excuse to come to Holland and spend the saturday night in Amsterdam as any - will be a group out on the town if you wish to join. If you have any questions please feel free to ask here or send me a PM.

hey For all of us foreign racers - we don't have any IBAN/ BIC details - so we dont know how to make payment - or can we pay on the day in cash (I assume not)? Also there are no contact details for the Dortmunder Motorsport Club so hoping that Stefan you have this info or maybe someone else already has this? Sorry to ask the following questions as I'm sure they have been covered in the german topic at length but for us that dont understand german so well: * Race numbers - I have put a request in for nr 27 - will we get confirmation of our registration & number in the post (or here) or do we have to take extra numbers just in case? * Fork conversion - i understand this is possible but a friend wants to put an lx50 fork in (which sounds like its ok) but can it have the front wheel in it - ie the front wheel is clearly new LX one - although the fender will be replaced with a old school one to keep the historic looks * In may it wasn't necessery to have the throttle return & an off switch - so far I have neither (no loom in my racer hence no off switch so I just stall it) I take it that this is now 100% a must and without it you can't race? Will obviously try to sort out but just wondering how strict it will be in case I dont manage it on time. * Then clothing - I understand this is stricter than last May but just wondering if there were any written criteria in english. Many of us dutchies have textile motorbike clothing - i assume this is ok. Does the trousers & pants need to be zipped together? I also saw many people wearing heavy shoes or army or DM boots - is this still allowed? Sorry for all the dumb questions but since I'm pushing lots of people to go they are asking me all these questions and I'd hate them to travel all the way to the ring and find out they cant race. Many thanks Thx John (nr 27)
-
thanks for making & hosting these Maarten (& thoas) they are all really awesome! A big thanks to all the germans for coming all the way over - was great to have so many of you. We will definately do it again next year. I just love that scooters from standard to highly tuned and riders of all abilities can ride together like that and have so much fun. Bring on the ring!
-
yep - there are toilets on the race track that will be open all day & night and I'm pretty sure (90% sure) there are showers there as well. People camp on the grounds all the time like we will but I dont think there is electricity you can use or your caravan/ tent or van. Are you looking for a camping for the friday night? Just did a search and this seems to be the only one - lelystad camping - auf deutsch Like i mentioned before lelystad is really dull so it may be worth trying amsterdam camping instead and then you can have a night out in amsterdam. Its only 45 mins away from the track. http://www.campingzeeburg.nl/ hope that helps! John PS - I got a PM asking about the numbers. Most of the numbers are fixed already but if you already have numbers on your bike then dont worry as was the case last year we have rally boards with each of the race numbers printed up - which everyone will get 1.
-
hey Yes I do actually! Frank has just updated his site: Race update its in dutch but should be self explanatory. If you feel you have been put in the wrong class then it can be corrected on the day. If you registered recently (or on the day as this will be possible!) then it maybe that you havent been added yet - I know at least of 5 that arent on there yet but if you're German you will probably be put in the expert class. The day starts pretty early on the saturday so I think many people will miss the 10am kickoff so I think you can consider the first race more as practise time but we'll see on the day. Also its going to be very wet on friday but better on Sat & Sunday but its windy in NL so the track should dry out very quickly like it did last year.

yep - these are fine! Any tires with a tread is fine (they dont need to be E5 approved or anything). I'm still pushing for slicks - they may be allowed in the expert classes if its bone dry (but with a hint of rain or wet track they will be banned)- will let you know the decision on this in the next few days. Does the ESC allow full slicks? Also done a prelimenary assignment of bikes & riders to the classes and we have made the following ammendments as most riders & bikes in the 180cc class are experienced and have tuned scooters so there is now no need to have a 180cc plus beginners class (if there are some people feeling uncomfortable in the 180cc plus experts class then we can always move them into a lower class). So its now: Class 1: upto 105cc - Beginners & Experts Class 2: 106cc and more - Beginners Class 3: 106cc to 180cc - Experts Class 4: 180cc and more - Experts I've taken the liberty of putting all the germans in the expert classes (but this can be changed on the day) Will put the full brochure with all the times, classes, racers etc up as soon as I get it - maybe even tomorrow if Frank gets it done. Thx John

hey the times arent really known yet - figuring this out in the next couple of days. I think it will probably start a little earlier than noon - maybe by 11am but as it isnt possible to camp at the racetrack on the friday night I think it wont be before 11am. Lelystad really is a shit hole new town so I wouldnt bother going out there or staying there on the friday night. I would stay in amsterdam on the friday night. If my bike is finished on time I will definately go out. Amazombie & Harry Barlow etc will also be out that evening. I would then stay at Camping Zeeburg - http://www.campingzeeburg.nl/ & then leave the next morning as its only 35 to 40 mins to the track from amsterdam. On the slicks vs no slicks this still isnt clear - I think they probably wont be allowed but this will determined on the day by the technical committy. To be safe I'm using race tires (sawa or dunlop) that have a rain tread and are therefore allowed. Definately make sure you dont just bring slicks just in case. @ Dirk - did they steal your carb? Little fuckers!
