Just to let you know that I have also designed a variable ignition timing box ! I'll try to present it to you in a few weeks after some more intensive test and when I have more time :D It works in stand alone, no need to modify anything on the engine, it is also fully programmable with "high" number of points to define curves and so forth. Right now, before I make a new board, I'm considering the need to add throttle, knock and CHT sensors... Stay tuned

Very nice cases and very very very nice crankshaft ! I wanted to built this kind of crankshaft but for money reason I did the same but on a standard used RMS crank. I also had a first version of my engine with the TZR reedvalve, but I think it was too big for the small transfers of my Polini. So know I'm running a RD350 vForce3 reedvalve :) Old pictures (more work have been done after): http://ktylife.free.fr/vespa/KTy133/CartersFrais%e9s1.jpg @sceleton: What is going to be your cylinder kit on this beauty ? :D -

You mean knock sensing ? I guess everything is possible as long as you correctly interface it ! -
Everything is possible with a little bit of work...

I was still concern about the Cw and Frontal area variables, because I don't have any dyno around where I live, so I kept thinking... :plemplem: When recording both engine rpm and wheel speed, can't you use the second one to adjust the computation of engine power ? i.e Let's say I record in 3rd gear and I put 5 sensors (for better precision, one on every bolt/nut !) on the front wheel. If I record a signal at 98Hz, with a front wheel circunference of 1315mm, that means I'm driving at 98*1.315*3600/(1000 * 5) = 92.78km/h... not so bad ;) Now, at the same time window where I was driving my top speed of 92.78km/h, it was recorded that my engine/stator was spining at 155Hz, that is 9304rpm... Knowing that at 9304rpm I was riding at 92.78km/h, with a gear ratio of xxx and a rear tyre circunference of xxx, don't you have all the data to solve some equations to determine the missing variables and "correctly" calculate the bHP ? Worthless ? Cheers, KTy - -
110/80-10 rear tyre on smallframe.... ?
KTy antwortete auf KTy's Thema in Vespa V50, Primavera, ET3, PK, ETS etc.
Should I try to put half PX/prim slim rim with a cosa wide one like this one ? http://www.sip-scootershop.com/pages/detai...814&nosubnavi=1 Or is it going to be a problem ? I don't understand why some of you can ride a Pirelli 110/80 without any problem and I can't with my Raceman 110/80 ! With speed (~70km/h), it touchs the mouting screw of the exhaust !! (Zirri Silent) ( I wanted to try also this one: http://www.sip-scootershop.com/pages/detai...903&nosubnavi=1 but there is no stock... :heul: And yes, I have already a straight spring (worb5). -

Okay, I get it... Soon I'll record some data to feed atom007 GSF dyno software... ;) -

Is it me (with the wrong translation) or ... ? According to your graphic and legend, the big one gives better results... Am I mistaken ? -
About the boost-bottle... Do you now its volume (in cc) and the length and inner diameter of the connecting hose ? Maybe this can help: http://koti.mbnet.fi/jauho/Boost_Bottle_Calculator.xls Cheers, KTy

@BBG: 1. Do you drive the vForce reedvalve ? 2. What is your engine primary, 2.55 or 2.34 ? 3. Finally, if it was available, what would be the best (trade-off) exhaust for your setup ? Fabrizi or "Hamerzombi" ? Thanks ! -
110/80-10 rear tyre on smallframe.... ?

On a standard 2.10" rim ? Or on 2.10" rim with spacers beetween half-rims ? -

110/80-10 rear tyre on smallframe.... ?
KTy antwortete auf KTy's Thema in Vespa V50, Primavera, ET3, PK, ETS etc.
Okay... Did you do that ? So I should go for a cosa rim on a smallframe... Any other acceptable possibilities ? I'm affraid the cosa will touch too much the clutch... I'll get cosa rim to try ! By the way, I was told 100/80-10 are pointless size for a tyre, better choose 90/90 or 110/80... Is that true ? Because I may reduce the width (and height) of my rear tyre if I can't find a solution... ( -
@olipv: Before I had a regular Polini 133 + polini reedvalve + PHB24 + 2.55 primary + Leovince, nice street rider. This one is: Polini 133 + polini piston + 5mm alu spacer + Malossi Head (unchanged) + vForce3 reedvalve + zirri silent + zirri short 4th + 2.34 (I want to put back the 2.55 GSF-prepared for fun) @px200hh: 1. I'll probably grind my cases so that I can fit the repair kit... sorry 2. Every transfer was matched of course 3. Scooter is running, thus it needs more jetting session. No HP curve and no dyno around where I live ! ( I'll do a GSF dyno test with atom007 software with maybe feedback from people that have compared GSF dyno/real dyno. 4.

So, to answer the questions: * It's a MBK booster fork, some picture here and there: http://ktylife.free.fr/vespa/KTy133/FourcheBooster.JPG and http://ktylife.free.fr/vespa/KTy133/FourcheBoosterVespa.jpg * They were much more work on the *cases* to match the transfers of the cylinder. It's probably not perfect, I tried to do what I had understand from px200hh's topic :) Please, feel free to explain to me what you think I should have done... ;) Anyway, the scooter is a blast, even if I had to put a 2.34 primary because the 2.54 GSF prepared couldn't fit my cases :uargh:

GSF Dyno - Leistungsdiagramm selbst gemacht...
KTy antwortete auf atom007's Thema in Vespa Lambretta Projekte
Hey, Is there known Cw and Frontal Area values for smallframe (and other) that actually "fit" well with real dyno test ? It could be nice to have a little data base of "common" values... Thanks ;) -
110/80-10 rear tyre on smallframe.... ?
KTy antwortete auf KTy's Thema in Vespa V50, Primavera, ET3, PK, ETS etc.
Well, I already shorten the screw... It's just that the tyre is probably too much compressed... I'll try to put spacer between the two half-rims... Any opinion on that ? ;) -
110/80-10 rear tyre on smallframe.... ?
KTy antwortete auf KTy's Thema in Vespa V50, Primavera, ET3, PK, ETS etc.
Ok, back from a nice day of fun on a track, and I have a problem with my Raceman 110/80-10 on standard rims... I already put 3mm spacer and a straight spring. BUt this time, it's no really a width problem... I have about 7mm of clearance beetween the tyre and the screw that hold my exhaust, so I thought it would be enough. After 2h I looked at my rear tyre, and I can see a 1 or 2mm deep mark ! It is because of the screw... ( Obviously, the tyre is too much "compressed" on standard rim and with rotational speed its diameter increase... What are my option to keep this tyre ? GS rim ? Cosa rim ? In both case, I need the two parts of the rim or only half ? Thanks ;)
