Daß der DVD-Player nicht geht, liegt aber mit großer Wahrscheinlichkeit eh nicht am dbus. Nur die Medienerkennung läuft da drüber. ich würde mal in der Konsole den mplayer mit graphischer Oberfläche "von Hand" aufrufen:

$ gmplayer

und da den Output lesen. Zu 99,9% ist das dvdnav-plugin nicht installiert oder die spezielle Version in Kombination mit Deinen geupdateten PlugIns Schrott. Wäre aber nicht das erste Mal, daß es da bei SuSE hakt. Die Distri ist mittlerweile echt ein einziger Müllhaufen: Kraut und Rüben. Hoffen wir, daß es nach ein paar Jahren OpenSuSE wieder so aussieht wie zu Zeiten der 5er und 6er Serie. :-D

Mit DVD geht nicht, meinte ich eigentlich mehr, dass im Arbeitsplatz nicht angezeigt wird wenn ich eine DVD einlege. Wenn ich die Kamera anschließe kommt zu den Festplatten noch ein Symbol fürn Wechseldatenträger dazu, für mein DVD- und auch CD- Laufwerk wird nix angezeigt wenn man eine DVD/CD einlegt, also wirds irgendwie ned erkannt!

Da der Mplayer eigentlich schon mal wunderbar funktionierte, glaub ich eher nicht dass es an fehlenden/falschen Plugins liegen sollte?!?!?

Korrigiere: CD wird im CD-Laufwerk erkannt und ein Symbol im Arbeitsplatz hinzugefügt, bei einer DVD im DVD-Laufwerk passiert nix und somit kann ich auch mitm Mplayer nix öffnen weil ja des Laufwerk samt DVD nicht vorhanden/erkannt wird!

Achtung! Der obige Befehl kann - falsch abgetippt - das System derart schrotten, daß danach ein regulärer Systemstart scheitert. Wichtiges Element ist die Doppelklammer ">>". Sie bedeutet "an Datei anhängen". Nur eine (">") bedeutet "Datei mit $KRAM ersetzen". Achtung!

Ich suchte zuletzt die logische Gerätebezeichnung bzw. den Anschluß am Datenkabel (hier: primary slave) Deines IDE/ATAPI-DVD-Laufwerks. Wenn Du darüber hinaus wissen willst, was hier passiert(e), mußt Du es in obigen Anleitungen nachlesen :-D

Wenn das (nach Neustart der Dienste dbus/hald und Gnome-Logoff/Login) nicht hilft, ist der Kernel kaputt-gepatcht.

Zur Sicherheit dann bitte Output von:

uname -a

also dbus und hald hab ich neu gestartet und es wurde keine Fehlermeldung angezeigt und mit grünem "done" bestätigt! Danach hab ich einen Neustart gemacht.

Leider wird im Arbeitsplatz eine eingelegte DVD immer noch nicht erkannt! Da aber dafür mein USB und CD-Laufwerk wieder gehen, sehe ich den heutigen Tag schon mal als erfolgreich abgeschlossen an. Ich werd die ganzen Aktionen nochmal bei den von dir genannten Seiten nachvollziehen und hoffe daraus was zu lernen.

Hi Max,

das Problem bleibt, daß wir nicht wissen, was wie wo verlinkt ist. Auf jeden Fall weiß ich, daß es mit kernel-Versionen älter als 2.6.19-rc2 (vanilla von kernel.org) hier und da Streß mit der IDE/ATAPI-Hardwareerkennung und der IDE-Performance gab. (Und entsprechend mit allen "automounter"-Tools.) Der obige String "2.6.16.27-0.9-default" deutet auf SuSE-eigene Anpassungen/Patches hin. Und das heißt, daß man das so ohne Weiteres eh nicht nachvollziehen kann. Evtl. hilft tatsächlich ein "System Update", wenn da ein kernel-Update inklusive ist. 2.6.20 wäre aktuell.
