Hallo Leute ,

hiermit möchten wir einen Superabend mit einer sensationellen Band aus England ankündigen.

Freitag 9.März ist das FLOORSHAKERS INFERNO zu Gast im Tsunami Köln und wir freuen auf ein Hammerkonzert mit den unglaublichen AUNT NELLY. Sie spielen eins ihrer beiden Konzerte in Deutschland in Köln auf unserer Party.

Saugrooviger beatiger Hammondsound , alles was das 60s & 70s Herz begehrt . Wer sich schon mal einen Eindruck davon machen möchte kann sich schon mal auf Youtube umschauen.

Die Band setzt sich aus Bands zusammen wie den guten alten Clique oder den Effectives und Bresslaws.

Man fühlt sich an die Prisoners, an die Clique und so viele andere Bands dieser Art erinnert.

Da wir davon ausgehen, dass es recht voll werden wird. Gibt es ab 1.Februar in der Hammondbar, Metzerstr. 25,Köln einen Vorverkauf.

Die Karten kosten im Vorverkauf 10 Euro.

Am Dj Pult werden an diesem Abend Dj Shaker Mika und DJ andi aspossible stehen.

Anbei ein paar Reviews:

Ja, zugegeben, ich habe mich richtig auf das Hören dieses Albums gefreut, denn bei Aunt Nelly spielen Leute meiner hochgeschätzten Mod-Hereos The Clique mit. Was ein Fest, da mal wieder was zwischen die Ohren zu bekommen. Klasse Songs, klasse Sound. Alles richtig gemacht. Wer jedoch glauben mag, dass es sich um eine puristische Mod-Revival Platte handelt, wovon ich anfangs vielleicht sogar ausgegangen bin, liegt falsch. Hier wird viel verbraten, wovon diese Szene generell schöpft. Strichweise bekommt man Tracks, als wären sie irgendwo zwischen Makin´Time und den Prime Movers geboren worden, dann schlängeln sich soulige Parts ein, die (vor allem auch wegen des Orgel Sounds) durchaus eines James Taylor entspringen konnten, um abzuweichen in Richtung Garage a la Prisoners.

Alles aber stets durchzogen von dem gewissen Schuss Rhytm`n Blues, der sich in jeder diese Musikrichtungen wohlfühlt. Würde man diese Platte in Stücke schneiden wollen, gebe es für besagte Puristen jeweils auch konkrete Stücke nach Reinheitsgebot. Sei es der Soul Allnighter, das Parka Treffen oder das Sixties Garagen-Meeting. Aber wie gesagt, die Größe der Platte liegt im abwechslungsreichen Zusammenspiel von Allem. Große Platte, die hier ziemlich oft laufen wird. 13 Songs, davon 3 wohlausgesuchte Cover Versionen, u.a. "Love & A Woman" von Gloria Lynne und John Lee & The Checkmates´ "Bring It Down Front". Passt!

Aunt Nelly should be well known by all Mod and Neo - Sixties fans. Some of the musician played mid of the 1990´s by The Clique, who released by Detour Records a fantastic album and a couple of 7" 45´s.

Aunt Nelly tie in with the typical Mod Soul Pop with a awesome hammond organ, R&B influences and a soul singer, who are sadly not the main singer on all tracks.

Songs like " Rescue me" , "Get off my track" or "The Faker" comes up with all you like to have as fan of this genre. But also the songs as such are satisfy. With "Waiting for Alex" the band have a wonderful groovy instrumental number on the album. And "Sunlight" comes up with a little bit of a flair from the american west coast. On the other hand "Smile" is a fantastic old school britpop number.

The album as whole is consistently great and a most welcome addition by forthcoming Mod and Beat Allnighter.

Who aren´t imagine about Aunt Nelly´s self imposed label "Psychedelic Soul", will be smart after looking to the Aunt´s pedigree. She is the directly descendant of the Mod revivalists The Clique, the niece of the Medway garage band The Effectives and got from The Bresslaws her passion for sixties R&B.The pedigree of Aunt Nelly does not only give information about the members of the band, but also the music direction of their debut album.All in line with their previous music projects they celebrate stomping Soul-Beats and organ dominant R&B, respectively Pop tunes, and the covered music variety is to much excessive for an acceptably classification.Between awesome Blue Eyed Soul ("Day tripper"), traditionally Britpop ("Smile") or Merseybeat ("get off my track") it integrate also instrumental Freakbeat ("Waiting for Alex") or sunny West Coast pop ("smile") into an overall picture, who is on the other hand aren´t really one.So if you haven´t any adverse about Aunt Nelly´s free and easy handling with crowding conventions and their rejoice to the whole variety of British music from the early sixties to the mid sixties will love this Mod-Potpourri.Personally, by further releases i would prefer a more rough production.
