Scootentole presents the 3rd Endurance Challenge Scootentole: The 10 hours of MagnyCours (Club track) !!

Back again in Magny-Cours in 2014, but this time on a slightly bigger track for a new exciting edition of classic scooter Endurance race in France !

The race time duration will be 10h, the reglements is simple and very open; Strategy and reliability are the two keys of this first edition.
The number of scooter to take part of this Endurance race is limited to 35; Make sure you book a slot as soon as possible !

The track configuration will be the most twisty one ! Pay attention that this is quite a long and fast track ! 2,6 km long and 10m of wide
 

Race format: No ranking classes, scratch ranking for all teams !

 

 

Rules, the main points:  (IF ANY QUESTION, PLEASE ASK !!)
What you can note:

• Single class !
• No cut frame, no skeleton -> Full frame scooter, including headset, panels and mudguard
• If you have a tube to strengthen your chassis, you must cover the hole between chassis en the tube
• No engine limitation, EXCEPT
  • Fuel tank MUST be of original type, size, capacity and placed at its original location - NO modification allowed to fuel tank
  • Tank CANNOT be changed during re-fueling, only jerrycan
• Max 10 inch wheels (other vintage scooters, please contact us)
• No 4 stroke, no automatic (vintage 4 Stroke, please contact us)
• All tires type allowed
• Rear/front lights supplied by STATOR (not only from battery)
• Teams of 3 to 5 pilots + team manager + mechanics; max 7 persons in the pit-stand !!
• Pilot relay one hour maximum

Booking fees:

• 280 euro for the scooter
• 50 euro per driver (3 to 5 drivers)
• 10 euro per visitors

This rate includes practice and race, transponder rental (lap timing), drivers insurances, lottery ticket for each driver, bivouac/camping on the campsite…

• Name of the team
• Names of each driver (3 to 5)
• Name of team manager and other members (max 7 persons)
• Two e-mail contacts
• Two handynummer
• Type of scooter with real displacement of the engine, main modifications, type of exhaust… Details and pictures if possible !
• Driving-licence soft-copies (Bring to the track)
• Medical certificate of each driver soft-copies (must be less than 1 year old, Bring to the track). DMV insurance does NOT work as this is NOT an ESC race.

Important

• The team registration will be validated ONLY when the booking fees have been transferred
• You can unsubscribe (team member or complete team) before the 14th of September 2014. After this date, we will not refund you ! Please give us 2 weeks after the event to process your refund.
• There will a waiting list if we exceed the 35 scooters. Please give us 2 weeks after the event to process your refund
• The start number will be assigned to you.

Other notes:

• On saturday, you can also train on the kart track (smaller track) in alternance with kartings from 15:30 to 17:00, 20euro to be paid to the circuit.
• There will be a van to pick you up when you are left on the side of the track.

****: Given that the timing will be tight on Saturday night, the organizers will make all necessary registration and controls at the same time; administrative / technical scooter / drivers outfit/ etc. This means that each team, as a whole, must go through the different controls, at the same time.

Just after everything is cleared, registered and checked, our good friend Michel Lemarié will take a picture of your team, with scooter (if enough room allows it) ... Bol d'Or style!

Yes we know... It was a difficult decision but we had no other date available...

Due to limitation in the starting grid at both race events I would not think there is collision. Teams could be could be choose their prefered race track. Shorter Kart circuit or mid-sized Grand Prix circuit..

 

End of September is much better than end of October for the Scooter Bol 'Or.

 

Warmer and rest of sunlight while the evening practice. So we are not dependant to our 6 Volt headlight

GLÜCKWUNSCH ans DART TEAM!

 

Alex und Torsten haben am Samstag am SCK Open Day 2014 noch 8h ordentlich gebuckelt, bekamen dann die Info das der Motor im Training abgeraucht ist, haben sich in die Karre gesetzt und sind die ~800km nach Magny Cours geeiert.

Motor wieder fit, 2 -> Platz!

Großer Dank an das Organisationsteam Scootentole.  

 

Es war wieder ein echtes Erlebnis auf dieser tollen Strecke ein Langstrecken-Rennen mit so gut gelaunten Teams in relaxter Atmosphäre fahren zu dürfen.

 

Unser 4 Tage Trip nach Frankreich war ein voller Erfolg. Unter der Sonne von Burgund konnte die „Scuderia Heini Zoller-Hof“ mit ihrer etwas untermotisierten, übergewichtigen und trommelgebremsten Dame erneut einen unglaublichen 6. Platz erreichen  

Bei trockener Strecke und angenehmen knapp über 20 Grad haben wir in 314 Runden in 10 Stunden auf den griffigen Asphalt des Club Kurses gefahren. Unsere Pre 65 racer "Scramblenette" ist inkl. Training über 800 km Vollgas ohne die geringsten Probleme gelaufen und hat dabei ungeahnte Drehzahlen über 6000 hingelegt (oben kein Nadellager im Pleuelauge, sondern Großvaters Gleitlager aus Rotguss-Bronze ).



Im Training hatte Ivo einen Abflug, nachdem das Vorderrad auf unserem Qualifyer die Luft verlor (Loch in neuem Schlauch). Gottseidank ist nichts passiert und den Roller hatten wir nach 30 Min wieder fit. Nach dem Training gelang es Cheftechniker Mattin die Ölsabber-Stelle am Kupplungswellen-Ausgang zu schließen, so dass nun nicht mehr Öl die Schwinge runterlief und sich auf dem Hinterreifen verteilte.

Nachdem letztes Jahr nach dem Rennen auf dem  SCK Prüfstand der BSA Pancake Luftfilter mit K&N-Filterelement als Leistungshemmer identifiziert hatten (Filter setzt sich durch das Patschen zu),  haben wir unter dem Tank eine Eigenbau-Airbox konstruiert und aus Edelstahl gefertigt.

Nach der Düsenabstimmung im freien Training ist die Bella gelaufen, wie die sprichwörtliche Sau. Unsere Rundenzeiten waren bis zu 9 Sekunden schneller als 2013   . Dabei absolut zuverlässig, so dass wir uns vom 21. Startplatz uns schon in der ersten Stunden in Richtung Top 10 bewegt haben. Die Performance unseres Aggregates lies nicht nach. Ganz im Gegenteil sie legte noch zu. Mit 9 Boxenstopps zum Nachtanken und Fahrerwechsel (einmal verbunden mit Kettenschmierung) spulten wir souverän unsere Stints runter und konnten unseren hart erkämpften 6. Platz dank Ivo Fahrkünsten vor einem heranstürmenden italienischen Vespa PK Polini Team mit 17 Sekunden ins Ziel retten.
