Hi, KTy...

I´ve done my DR like the Polini, or to be honest, a "little" bigger ( :-D :wasntme: :-D ) with grinding 8mm from the bottom and a put packing plate under to open the channels complete (oder wie die ÜS auf Englisch heißen mögen...)... :-) In my opinion, you should open the DR-channels with a grinder like the 177 Polini or even bigger like I´ve done... And yes, it´s a good alternative instead of the Polini... And yes too, read the topics from dr177... :-D In my opinion with a Malossi valve and a 28 or bigger PHBH or Koso and a TFF or PM it´s a good all day runner with enough power and, I think, about 18-20 hp+ at the backwheel, but if you done this, it´s not a silent sleeper coz the valve and the exhaust if you know wot I mean... :-(

Off the package a DR is not more than a good base I think...

The Polini head is much better than the DR head (1:10,6 instead of 1:8,6 conmpression ratio)... But you can grind the DR head about 1 to 1,5mm down like I´ve done on my engine

An alternative for you to read: read it on www.freakmoped.at or so, o.k. it´s in german but there are some photos... :-D

The engine is PX125 cases, with 22/68 primary, 8" wheels (!), Leo pipe, racing crankshaft, Polini manifold + 1mm spacer and PHBH28...

It was a *blast* with the Polini 177, unfortunatly, I seized 2 times because of the carb-manifold rubber that has an hole :-D And then I discovered the skirt was broken !! :heul: :-D

By the way, an opinion on the Malossi 166 ?
